Just as nature provides us with the necessary resources to be born, we also possess an inner source of resources to die (even when the body begins to lose vitality). The key difference is that, in dying, we are conscious of ourselves. Our body knows well what to do to transcend. It is the emotional aspects, deep-rooted beliefs, and thinking that challenge our transition, as we may be concerned about those left behind, unfinished matters or fear of the unknown.

Although every death is personal and unique, there are certain expected moments. Understanding the conscious process at the end of life can ease fears and allow for a serene flow, step by step, through the natural process, experiencing a good life until the final breath. When the experience transcends words and communication becomes symbolic, metaphorical, or behavioral, with a compassionate presence, there is a greater likelihood of a satisfying perspective to make sense of and deepen gratitude for all of life's experiences, even death.

The way we die is shaped by the nature of the illness, the symptoms, and above all, by our beliefs. At COINCIDIR, we offer guidance to help individuals prepare for their own death or accompany a loved one through theirs. We use specific techniques that foster self-trust in this inevitable and profoundly important process. Once finitude is consciously embraced, it opens the door to a deeper connection with inner wisdom, often unrecognized, that allows us to release and honor the physical body.

“Dying with dignity: accompanied, choosing, without pain, without worry.”

García Sabell
