Internal motivation influences both physical and mental health, and it can be fostered through goal-oriented activities, even in patients who are physically or psychologically limited due to injury or illness.
1. Reeducate individuals in daily living activities.
2. Empower individuals to achieve a degree of autonomy and optimize their independence.
3. Contribute to the recovery or development of motor, perceptual, and sensory skills.
4. Facilitate the prevention or adaptation to a disability.

Characteristics of the activities:
· Non-compulsive; can be spontaneous or organized, individual or collective.
· Voluntary participation attitude.
· Generates energy because it stimulates action
· Compensatory for limitations, by enabling expression through art, science, or sports. Healthy because it fosters self-care.
It is essential to conduct interviews with both the patient and their family to assess habits, attitudes, experiences, education, expectations, illness-related needs, abilities, interests, available resources, and environmental factors
It is important to evaluate the patient and family through an interview regarding habits, attitude, experience, training, expectations, needs due to the illness, skills, interests, resources and environment.
The Karnofsky Performance Scale is used to assess a person's ability or functionality for activities for daily activities. It also supports clinical decision-making for the next six months
· 100 Normal, no complaints, no signs of illness.
· -90 Normal activities, but with minor signs and symptoms of illness.
· -80 Normal activity with effort, with some signs and symptoms of illness.
· -70 Able to care for self, but unable to perform normal activities or active work.
· -60 Requires occasional care, but can care for self.
· -50 Requires extensive care, including medical care. Bedridden less than 50% of the day.
· -40 Disabled, incapacitated, needs special care and attention. Bedridden more than 50% of the day.
· - 30 Severely disabled, severely incapacitated, actively supportive treatment.
· - 20 Completely bedridden, seriously ill, requires hospitalization and active treatment.
· - 10 Moribund.
· - 0 Deceased
